When i was a kid...

Song of the day: Shine On You Crazy Diamond - Pink Floyd. It was during my internship in 2002 that i was introduced to this timeless band by my supervisor. Pink Floyd was never in my teenage rock fantasies but the appealing factor of this band is it's controversial album called "The Wall" that was released in 1979 and was later adapted into a feature film. To put it in a better words, here is an excerpt from Wikipedia which pretty much sums up the elements of the adapted film

The Wall is a rock opera that explores abandonment and isolation, symbolised by a metaphorical wall. The songs create an approximate storyline of events in the life of the protagonist, Pink, a character based on Waters, whose father was killed during the Second World War. Pink is oppressed by his overprotective mother, and tormented at school by tyrannical, abusive teachers. Each of these traumas become metaphoric "bricks in the wall". The protagonist eventually becomes a rock star, his relationships marred by infidelity, drug use, and outbursts of violence. As his marriage crumbles, he finishes building his wall, completing his isolation from human contact

It;s not something i would recommend for pleasure viewing. But still Roger Waters emotional & soulful solo at the beginning of "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" is a hallucinatory bridge that divides reality and the amazing psychedellic world that the band brings you to. Once you crosses it with your eyes closed, coming back to reality is a drag.

When I was a Kid...
Being a kid is awesome, with no responsibility to shoulder and it's a phase in life where time and tide do actually wait for you. It's a world where you can truly be yourself and be carefree, sort of like a dry sponge, so eager to absorb everything around you. Which when you eventually do, when you get older, you become this wet and dirty sponge that has grown weary from absorbing all the elements and influences of the world, be it good or bad and you probably lose track of who you once was. But yeah, never look back at the past, but some are just are just too hard to ignore.

When i was a kid...i had a crush on the Pink Ranger.



When i was a kid...my hero was Chuck Norris. I mean seriously, i watched his black and white movie "Lone Qolf Macquade" (still on VCR back then) plentiful times. And oh yeah my other hero is Macgyver.



When i was a kid...i believed that there was a secret door to an enchanted world in my house and searched everywhere for it.

When i was a kid...i wanted to be a soldier.

When i was a kid...i only wanted to take pictures with zebras at the zoo.

When i was a kid...i asked my dad what breast meant at a dinner table. He told me that i heard it wrong and he meant the word "press".

When i was a kid...i would lie on a pillow and pile more pillows on top of myself and act like i was a hamburger. When there is a bolster around, i would be a hot dog. My sisters didnt find me funny.

When i was a kid...i pee'ed on all my drains in the house. Thanks to that, i learned water is an element that causes rust.

When i was a kid...i was really skinny and had bugs bunny teeth. I emphatised with the guys in "Revenge of the Nerds"

When i was a kid...i bathed with the toilet door open after watching Exorcist and ALiens on TV. They really should ban these from kids. I was tarumatised for years.

When i was a kid...i hated football but adored badminton.

When i was a kid...i thought i had super powers and would one day end up as a super hero. Im usally the reluctant hero who saves girls.

When i was a kid...i thought babies happen as a reward from God after a married couple just sleeps together (actually i blame this on the movies cause everytime a women announces her pregnancy, everyone is like so surprise and grateful to God)

When i was a kid...i watched tonnes of cartoons; Thundercats, Silverhawks, M.A.S.K., G.I.Joe, Robotech, Jem, Care Bears, My little Pony, Transformers, He-Man, Centurions, Dino-saucers, Dinoriders, Saber Rider & the Star Sheriff, Smurfs, Ghostbusters, Star-Com, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Voltron, Visionaries and many more which i cant think of now







When i was a kid...my favourite brand is Kiko and Kiki-lala

When i was a kid...i could hum to the tune of Airwolf's opening sequence

When i was a kid...i like to draw King Kong on my parents's whiteboard. Now i cant draw shit. Ever since i started skteching characters from "Gila-gila", every person i drew had big eyes and a large nose.
